Below is a quick recap of the Doccubus storyline in tonight’s episode (under the cut for those who want to avoid spoilers). Click on “read more” for the details. Join the episode discussion on our forum!

Trick and Bo are in the Dal, he is training her for the Dawning, which involves crossing the threshold of a doorway. She can’t get through, she is hitting an invisible barrier. Trick has sought out a woman who specializes in providing guidance for Fae as they ready themselves for the Dawning. She is worried about Bo particularly because she is a Succubus, and they are powerful.  We learn that Fae devolve in proportion to their abilities.

Bo and Lauren are in Bo’s bedroom.  Bo says what they are asking her to do (which is to confront her past and her parents) is out of the question. She says there has to be another way, telling Lauren, “I could really use some of your patented nerdness right now.”  Lauren replies that her “faeness trumps her nerdness” in this case; she can only treat the symptoms. Lauren has googled Bo’s hometown, and says she knows Bo left because of her boyfriend Kyle. Bo says that it may have all been different if only she had had someone who understood. Lauren says that they were simple people and to try not to blame them for their ignorance. Bo tells Lauren not to defend them; her mother cast her out like she was some kind of deviant. Lauren empathizes, and says that this could be her only hope. It’s a five hour drive, and Lauren wants to go with her: “I will go with you. You are practically insane anyway. You can’t go by yourself.” Bo appreciates the offer, but thinks that Kenzi could do with a road trip. “I need you to stay here and do some hardcore doctoring in case this doesn’t work out.” Lauren asks how Kenzi is and if Bo has figured out why the Kitsune targeted her. Bo says no, and that she didn’t want to ask.

Lauren pulls out a suitcase containing a serum that Bo can inject to hold off the effects of the Dawning. If she starts to lose control, she should use it. They are down to the last 3 syringes, and Lauren tells Bo that it’s for emergencies only.  Bo queries why Lauren can’t make more. Apparently the serum has a diminishing return, each injection will work less well than the last. Bo leans in to give Lauren a quick kiss and says, “Wish me luck…”

The rest of the episode deals with Bo and Kenzi battling Bo’s past demons, and an underfae called Lady Polly. Bo has to confront her past and come to terms with the unresolved issues with her nature and the relationship with her parents. Lady Polly was accidentally summoned years ago by Bo’s old high school friend Doug, and was waiting for the group of high school friends to return home. Bo, Kenzi, and Doug manage to defeat Lady Polly and send her back to captivity in an old well.

During her time at home, Bo comes to terms with her nature, and realizes she is not a monster.  She has forgiven her mother and they sit and talk, Bo telling her mother that she’s done good, and she would be proud. She has created a family for herself, and found her grandfather.

Back at the Dal, Trick and Stella, the Fae guide, put Bo to the test again. This time Bo passes through the threshold with no problems. Bo is happy she has passed, but Trick and Stella start explaining that this is just the first test, to enter the temple. After entering the temple she will face further, more gruelling tests.

Back at the Clubhouse, Bo and Kenzi talk. Kenzi isn’t ready to tell her everything, but Bo presses her, wanting to know why she visited the Norn.

Are we ever going to get a Quick Recap of 3.08? [I thought it was just delayed due to the EA Live-Chat, now I'm not sure.]
